Joyce W. Barnett, age 84, was born on February 24, 1938. in Noxapater, MS. She passed away on June 27, 2022, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center, Jackson, MS. Joyce was a resident of Northbay Subdivison, Madison, at the time of her passing.
Joyce graduated from Noxapater High School as valedictorian of her class. She was employed by BellSouth Telephone Company where she retired after 35 years. Retirement did not slow her down. She was a long time member of Parkway Baptist Church in Clinton, MS. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and also Northbay Garden Club. She volunteered her time at River Oaks Hospital. She also enjoyed being a poll worker.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Pauline Woodruff and her husband of many years, Pat Barnett. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Paula Prisock; her brother, Harry Woodruff and brother, Pat Woodruff. Left to cherish her memory are her son Kevin (Michelle), her grandson, Evan (Sarah), grandsons, Jace and Gabe, granddaughters Peyton Poole (Tanner) and Mary Reagan, one great grandchild, and her sister, Jan Sloan.
A memorial service is being held on Thursday, June 30, 2022, at Parkway Funeral Home, 1161 Highland Colony Parkway, Ridgeland, MS. Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. with the service at 2:00 p.m.
