Joe Ann was born November 9, 1949, to Joe C. and Lawrence Richardson Keene in Winston County. She was a member of Plainview Church of God in Rainsville, Alabama. Joe Ann had a calm, caring, and loving nature. She was a homemaker who also enjoyed caring for the elderly and babysitting young children; she also worked in the nursery at every church she ever attended. Joe Ann also enjoyed gardening, working in her yard and her flowers but most of all, she loved and was very involved with her family. One of her greatest joys was being “Grandma” to her eight grandchildren: Kaylin Duckworth, Kristopher Duckworth, and Kelsey Duckworth, William David Byrge, Woody Byrge, Mikel Byrge, Ruby Anna Dodson, Patrick Allen Dodson; and one great-grandchild Sincere Duckworth. She is also survived by her sister Rubye (Wayne) Clark. Joe Ann is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers G.W. and Wesley Keene; and a nephew Kevin Clark.
