Jimmy “Boyd” Burrage, Jr.

Jimmy “Boyd” Burrage, Jr., age 62, entered into eternal rest on May 12, 2022, at approximately 12:30 p.m. Funeral services will be 6 p.m. Sunday, May 15 at Noxapater United Methodist Church with Bro. Tom Potter officiating. Visitation will be at the church the day of the service from 5 p.m. until service time in Noxapater, Mississippi. Interment will immediately follow the service in Noxapater Methodist Cemetery.

Boyd was born January 19, 1960, to Jimmy Boyd and Virginia Merle Burrage of Noxapater. Boyd graduated from Noxapater High School in 1978. He continued his education at East Central Community College and later Ole Miss. While at Ole Miss, he was a member of the Gamma Ieta Sigma Insurance Fraternity. Boyd graduated from Ole Miss in 1982 with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He retired from Ford Credit. Boyd was an active member of Noxapater United Methodist Church. He was an avid supporter of all things involving Noxapater school and Ole Miss, but especially the football programs of each school. Boyd also loved the town of Noxapater and all of the people that lived there. He was a member of the Noxapater Board of Alderman from November 1998 until May 2000.

He is survived by his mother Merle Burrage, a brother Brian Burrage, a nephew Brandon (Alyssa) Burrage all of Noxapater, and a niece Heather (Jerry) McCrory of Philadelphia; and four great-nieces Jessee, Addyson, Saydee, and Maggie. He was preceded in death b his father Jimmy Burrage, Sr., maternal grandparents Jessie and Jessie White, paternal grandparents Walter Franklin Burrage and Terressa Lipscomb Burrage.

Serving as pallbearers are Kevin Weeks, Tate Turner, Mark Covington, Tim Reed, Tim Hobby, Hugh Barrier, Bob Clay, Mich McAdory, and Chris McAdory. Randy Thomas will serve as an honorary pallbearer. The family requests that memorials be made to the Noxapater Football Program.
