James David Yeatman

 Mr. James David “Cowboy” Yeatman, 89, passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022, at Mississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, March 3rd, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Mike Childs officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the service time at the funeral home. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

James was born on December 13, 1932, in Starkville, MS to Ollie Huffman Yeatman and James Krews Yeatman. He was a member of First Methodist Church, where he faithfully served with the acolytes each Sunday as the cross bearer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Willa Dean “Deanie” Yeatman; and his sister, Frances Yeatman DrumM.

James is survived by his brother, Kenny Yeatman and wife Kyla of Hot Springs, AR; dedicated cousin, George Turner and wife Linda of Zachary, LA; several other family members and his church family.

The family would like to thank Dr. Glen Peters and the staff at Louisville Healthcare for many years of care, kindness, and love.

Thank you to Paul Simmons, Billy Pearson, and Al Porter for faithfully transporting James to church on Sundays.
