Mrs. Mona Rogers Herrington, 67, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at her home in Louisville, MS. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, February 18th, at Porter Funeral Home, with Rev. Gayle Pope officiating. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Poplar Flat Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Mona was born March 11, 1954, in Macon, MS. She was a 1972 graduate of Nanih Waiya High School. She worked for many years as a secretary for Sanders Oil Company, and was a member of Poplar Flat Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Town and Country Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irene and Henry Steve Rogers; a sister, Berley Ann Lindley; and her brothers, J. W. Rogers, Douglas Rogers, Doyle Rogers, and Carlyle Rogers.
She is survived by her husband, Charlie Herrington of Louisville; a son, Stevie (April) Herrington of Louisville; two daughters, Amy (Reid) Simpson of Mashulaville and Becky Herrington of Austin, TX; a sister, Carolyn Sisson of Louisville; and five grandchildren, Jake Herrington, Emmie Herrington, Hailey Simpson, Beau Simpson, and Avery Kate Simpson.
Pallbearers will be Zachary Vowell, Kirk Sisson, Jack Vowell, Robert Hisaw, Hayden McGee, Mason McGee, John Vowell, Bill McGee, and Henry Rogers.
Memorials may be made to the Poplar Flat Cemetery Fund.
