Jeffrey Scott “Jeff” Cherry

Jeffrey Scott “Jeff” Cherry, age 47, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at his residence in Winston County, Mississippi. Graveside services and interment will be 10 a.m. Friday, December 24 at Craig Springs Cemetery in Oktibbeha County with Bro. Melvin Mordecai officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville.

Jeff was born in Starkville, Mississippi, on June 3, 1974, to Wade and Barbara Spence Cherry. He was a hardworking person who would do anything he could for anyone. Jeff was a “best” friend to many; he dearly loved his boys and his dad. Jeff was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish, even in the rain and storms!

Jeff is survived by his wife Saundra “Sandy” Tobin Cherry, his first wife Melissa Cherry Coleman (Brian), two sons Gage Cherry (Marsha Reed) and Ryan Cherry (Wendy Dandass), and his step-daughter Heather Dawn Tobin. He also leaves behind his father Wade Cherry (Betty Brown and Mark) and his grandmother Maxine Cherry Clardy. One of his greatest joys was being “Poppa Jeff” to his two grandchildren: Benjamin Walters and Lilly Lawson. He is also survived by a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends all of whom loved him dearly. Jeff is preceded in death by his mother Barbara Spence Cherry, two uncles Sidney Cherry and Larry Spence, and his grandparents.

Serving as pallbearers are Gage Cherry, Ryan Cherry, Lance Coleman, Steve Miller, Zack Spence, and Billy Robinson. Memorials in honor of Jeff may be given to Nowell-Massey Funeral Home to help the family with funeral expenses.
