Kathy Hardy Oldham

Mrs. Kathy A. Oldham, 66, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS, surrounded by her loving family. A celebration of life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, July 17th at The Way Community Church, with Rev Shayne Martin officiating. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Kathy Hardy was born May 18, 1955, in Detroit, MI, daughter of James M. and Dolores Hardy. After graduating from Trenton High School in Trenton, MI, she met her future husband of 44 years, Bob Oldham. Married on March 9, 1977, Bob and Kathy have four children: Eric, Jennifer, Lisa, and Jimmy.

Kathy volunteered in the Children’s Ministry and was a member of The Helping Hands Ministry at her church. She loved to cook and bake amazing desserts. She took great pride in cake decorating and crocheting for family and friends.

She had numerous jobs through her life, including cook, cashier, and childcare worker. She spent her retirement loving and taking care of her grandchildren, who brought her so much joy. She also enjoyed going with her husband on small getaways every chance she could.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James M. and Dolores Hardy, as well as her sister-in-law, Linda Hardy and her brother-in-law, Terry Markham.

She is survived by her husband, Bob Oldham of Louisville, MS; two daughters, Jennifer (David) Hankins of Louisville, and Lisa (Joe) Hurt of Macon, MS; two sons, Eric (Jenny) Oldham of Bellville, TX, and Jimmy (Pam) Oldham of Louisville, MS; two sisters, Lynn Markham of Lake City, FL, and Lorraine Coleman of Louisville, MS; two brothers, Jeff (Donna) Hardy of Columbia, TN, and David (Louann) Hardy of Virginia Beach, VA, eleven grandchildren, Anna Hankins, Jack Hankins, Jolie Hurt, Nick Oldham, Stella Oldham, Samuel Hurt, Harrison Oldham, Evelyn Oldham, Nora Oldham, Georgia Oldham, and Clark Hankins; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
