Helen Virginia Stevenson Collier

Helen Virginia Stevenson Collier, 82, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, July 23, 2021, at her home in McCool, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. on Monday, July 26, at Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church in McCool with Bro. Roger Griffith and Bro. Bobby Parish officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service at the church from 12:30 p.m. until service time. Interment will immediately follow the service in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
Helen was born November 21, 1938, to Maxie and Neva Gladney Bradberry in McCool. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church of McCool. Helen retired after devoting 35 years to the Spartus Corporation. She enjoyed spending time with her family and loved to cook for them to enjoy. Helen also liked to go…sometimes they made two to three trips a day to town most times accompanied by their dog, Little Joe!

Helen is survived by her husband of 24 years James Collier, and her children: Leon Stevenson and wife Cindy of McCool, Dianne Bunn and husband Mark of Ackerman, Mississippi, Chris Stevenson and wife Debra of McCool, Diane Miller of Ackerman, Daniel Collier and wife Sonya also of Ackerman, and Donna Ross and husband Benny of Huntsville, Alabama. One of her greatest joys was being “Mamaw or MawMaw” to her 18 grandchildren and her 17 great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind to mourn her passing a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Hervie Lee Stevenson, her parents, and her siblings Mary Hunt, Johnnie Stevenson, and Maxie D. Bradberry.

Serving as pallbearers are Mackey Bradberry, Mark Bradberry, Mikell Bradberry, Tyler Collier, Floyd Morgan, and Myron Stevenson. Memorials in honor of Helen may be given to Mt. Zion Presbyterian Cemetery, c/o Brenda Cagle, 199 Gordon Road, McCool, MS 39108.
