In the past few years, Joe enjoyed visiting with family and talking on the telephone with his long-time friend, Mildred Wright of Knoxville, Tennessee. He enjoyed going to church, taking scenic drives, and viewing the mountains from a rocker on his front porch. He followed the news and sports on television, especially basketball. He remained a fan of Mississippi State, his Alma Mater, and the University of Tennessee. He enjoyed dining out, especially at Chick-Fil-A and Longhorn’s Steakhouse, which has become a family tradition.
