Hunter Lane Yates

Hunter Lane Yates, 14, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, in Noxapater, Mississippi. Visitation will be Thursday, April 8 at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services are Friday, April 9 at 2 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church in Noxapater, Mississippi, with Rev. Charles Rook officiating.
Hunter was born on July 26, 2006, to Jeremy and Rebecca Coward Yates. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Noxapater. Hunter attended Noxapater Attendance Center and was a member of the junior high football and basketball teams. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, and building campfires. Hunter also enjoyed working on the farm with his Opa, Billy Coward, building fences and feeding cows.

Hunter is survived by his parents, Jeremy and Rebecca Yates of Noxapater, and his brother Ethan Yates. He is also survived by his grandparents: Ralph Yates, and Billy Wayne Coward, Sr. and Johanna Coward all of Noxapater; as well as his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Hunter is preceded in death by his grandmother Annette Yates.

Serving as pallbearers are Jeremy Yates, Ethan Yates, Billy Coward, Jr., Rowdy Yates, Bart Chancellor, and Austin Prisock. Honorary pallbearers are Ralph Yates, Billy Coward, Sr., Roger Towne, Sr., J. P. Phillips, Roger Towne, Jr., Connor Dixon, and Donnie Chunn. The family requests that memorials in honor of Hunter be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital online at www.stjude.org/donate.
