Eudine Stewart Cockrell Shaw

Eudine Stewart Cockrell Shaw, 92, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021, at the Northpointe Rehabilitation Center in Meridian, Mississippi. A private family funeral service will be held Thursday, January 14 in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville, Mississippi, with Bro. Mark Mayo officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service in Memorial Cemetery.

Eudine was born July 15, 1928, to Tom and Grace Alewine Stewart in Louisville, Mississippi. She grew up in Murphy Creek Baptist Church and was of the Baptist faith. Eudine graduated from Bond High School and was a homemaker. She enjoyed being outdoors; she especially loved working in her flowers and vegetable garden as well as fishing. She also loved animals of all sorts. Eudine loved to cook especially for her family. She enjoyed talking with others and was very much a “people person” so she very seldom met a stranger.

Eudine is survived by two daughters Sharon Cockrell Futch and husband Gary Allen Futch, and Tanya Cockrell Thompson and husband Russell Lee Thompson all of Meridian. One of her greatest joys was being “Mamaw” to her five grandchildren: Bradley Allen (Maxlynn) Futch, Hunter Scott (Blair) Futch, Taylor Rae Thompson, Leah Margaret Thompson, and William Tate Thompson and her only great-grandchild Hudson Allen Futch. She is also survived by two sisters Glenda (Sterling) Davis of Louisville and Joyce Crowson of Garner, North Carolina, in addition to numerous nieces and nephews. Eudine is survived by her beloved dog, Rockie, who loved her more than anyone. Eudine was preceded in death by her husbands Billy Parks Cockrell and Paul Dendy Shaw, her parents, and two sisters Dorothy Faye Hailey and Katherine Crowell.

Serving as pallbearers Bradley Futch, Gary Futch, Hunter Futch, Leah Thompson, Russell Thompson, Tate Thompson and Taylor Thompson.
