Clarance M. "Buster" McAdory

Clarance M. “Buster” McAdory, Jr., 73, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021, at Rush Health Systems in Meridian, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 5 in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Trent Jaudon officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 10 a.m. until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow the service in Memorial Cemetery.

Buster was born October 23, 1947, to Clarance McAdory, Sr. and Hazel Barnett McAdory. He was a faithful member of South Louisville Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Buster was also involved in teaching a Sunday school class for older adults and RA’s to young children on Wednesday nights. Buster was a 1965 graduate of Louisville High School. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education and two Master’s degrees, one in School Guidance and the other in Counselor Education, from Mississippi State University. For several years, he enjoyed coaching basketball and teaching at Louisville High School and at Winston Academy. Buster served as the President of Renasant Bank in Louisville retiring in 2012 with 35 years in the banking field. Buster was currently serving as the Manager of Financial Credit and Leasing at Taylor Machine Works in Louisville. He never lost his desire to help young men and women by volunteering to coach junior high basketball and he also volunteered as a referee for boys and girls basketball teams at Winston Academy. Buster answered the call of his country by serving 30 years in the Mississippi Army National Guard. He was called to active duty during Desert Storm. He later retired as a Lt. Colonel with his last command being a tank battalion.

Buster is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Brenda McAdory and his son Bradley D. McAdory both of Louisville. One of his greatest joys was being “Pop” to his two grandchildren: Nathan and Victoria McAdory. He is also survived by his sister Sara McAdory Dampeer of Madison, Mississippi, his father-in-law Jack Pearson; as well as his many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Buster was preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law Melba Pearson.

Serving as pallbearers are the deacons of South Louisville Baptist Church. Memorials in honor of Buster may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, www.stjude.org.
