Lois was born September 13, 1923, to Fed and Omega Burnham Holdiness in Kemper County, Mississippi. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Louisville where she enjoyed attending her Sunday school class each week as long as her health allowed. Lois enjoyed taking care of her family and home.
Lois is survived by her daughter Sandra Griffin and husband William of Woodstock, Georgia. One of her greatest joys was being “Memaw” to her two granddaughters Kelly Barrere and husband Wayne of Cartersville, Georgia; and Catherine Calomeni and husband Steven of Alpharetta, Georgia; as well as four great-grandchildren: Carter and Andrew Barrere and Noelle and Kendal Calomeni. She is also survived by a sister Joy Richardson. Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years Joe Shepard, her parents, three sisters and four brothers.
