Robert, who was known to everyone as “Hort,” was born October 8, 1959, to Roy and Frances Jane Warren Maxwell.
Hort is survived by his four children: Melissa Maxwell of Philadelphia, Robert Maxwell, Jr. of Ethel, Mississippi, William Carl Maxwell of Philadelphia, and Benjamin M. Maxwell of Louisville. He also leaves behind to mourn his passing two sisters: Betty Roach and husband John of Louisville, and Susan Green of Noxapater, Mississippi. One of his greatest joys was being “PawPaw Hort” to his five grandchildren: Alyssa Maxwell, Frances Maxwell, and William “Duke” Maxwell all of Philadelphia, Michael Maxwell of Louisville, and Tyler Maxwell of Philadelphia. He is also survived by four nieces: Dana Scrivener, JJ Misso, Callie Roach, and Ashley McBrayer. Hort was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers Roy and David Maxwell.
Serving as pallbearers are Robert Maxwell, William Maxwell, Ben Maxwell, John Roach, Josh Coghlan, and Gage Hamilton.
