Daniel Price Coleman, Jr., 57, passed away on Sunday, July 5, 2020, at his residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Graveside services and interment will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 11 at Memorial Cemetery in Louisville with Rev. Kenneth Hall officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 9:30 a.m. until service time at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville.
Dan was born February 10, 1963, to Daniel P. Coleman, Sr. and May Farmer Coleman in Illinois. He attended South Louisville Baptist Church. Dan sought perfection in all he did. For example, he enjoyed building items, yet he would point out his carpentry flaws and state “I’m not a carpenter.” Dan, a known workaholic, loved working and training others at Sanders Oil (now Waring Oil) where for 31 years he drove a truck. It was known among his friends that “he would give you the shirt off his back” if you had a need; he was always there for everyone. Dan enjoyed traveling and he was proud to achieve his bucket list item of “jumping” out of an airplane!
Dan is survived by his mother May Farmer Coleman of Louisville, his sister Brenda Matijevich and husband Russ of Lansdowne, Virginia, and his brother Brian Coleman and wife Melissa also of Louisville. He is also survived by his niece and three nephews: Matthew Matijevich, Ryan Matijevich, Lance Coleman, and Brianna Coleman as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. Dan was preceded in death by his father Daniel Price Coleman, Sr.
Serving as pallbearers are Brian Coleman, Lance Coleman, Matthew Matijevich, Ryan Matijevich, Doug Janz, and Richard Nail. Memorial contributions in honor of Dan may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tribute Program, P. O. Box 1000 Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
