Richard J. Dickerson, Sr.

Mr. Richard Jerl Dickerson, Sr., 77, passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2020, at his home in Louisville, MS. Visitation will be Saturday, May 9th, from 11:00 AM till 1:00 P.M. at Porter Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at Sunrise Cemetery in Noxapater, MS. Rev. Antoine Stokes and Rev. Fred Frazier will be officiating. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. 

Richard was born July 25, 1942, in Madisonville, Ky. He was a man of many talents and worked as a logger, construction, oil fields, and truck driver. He was a member of First Pentecostal Church of Noxapater.

He was preceded in death by two sons, Wayne Dickerson and Richard J. Dickerson, Jr.; a grandson, Richard Justin Dickerson; a brother, Robert Thomas Dickerson; his parents, Robert Thomas and Martha Luttrell Dickerson.

He is survived by his wife, Ora Lee Quinn Dickerson of Noxapater; a son, Dale (Carolyn) Dickerson of Louisville; a sister, Carolyn Dickerson Hardin of Alabama; two brothers, Tommy Cecil Dickerson of Goldsboro, NC, and Steven Bruce Dickerson of Madisonville, KY; and grandchildren, Natalie Carol (Philip) Beddingfield, Brad (Brittany) Dickerson, Jonathan Dwayne (Ashley) Dickerson, Shena Nicole Dickerson, and Kristi Leann Woodruff; and 16 great grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Sunrise Cemetery, Noxapater, MS.

Funeral Homes have been advised to keep visitations, funerals, and memorial services to the smallest gathering of immediate family members only. Please keep these families in your prayers. and may God bless us all. ONLY 20 PERSONS AT A TIME MAY ATTEND, BASED ON GOVERNOR'S ORDER.
