Ernest D. Oswalt passed away Saturday, April 4, 2020, at his residence, in Ackerman, MS. He was 74 years old. Mr. Oswalt was born in Choctaw County, MS, December 30, 1945, to Eubruh and Ida Mae(Sanders) Oswalt. He was retired from MSU and worked part-time as a truck driver for Choctaw County.
Private graveside services will be held on Monday, April 6, 2020, 10:00 a.m., at Mt. Airy Cemetery near Ackerman, MS. There will be no visitation.
Mr. Oswalt is survived by 1 son, Gene(Courtney) Oswalt of Ackerman, MS, 2 daughters, Rebecca(Shane) Gray of Sturgis, MS, Linda Oswalt of Ackerman, MS, 2 brothers, Lester(Joyce) Oswalt of Ackerman, MS, David(Peggy) Oswalt of Ackerman, MS, 1 sister, Marie Oswalt of Starkville, MS, 6 grandchildren, Brittany Bulter, Tim Peterson, Justin Peterson, Kayla Oswalt, Derek Oswalt, Carter Oswalt, and 3 great-grandchildren, Ryker Brady, Dixon Brady, and Ella Oswalt.
Mr. Oswalt was preceded in death by his wife, Osie, his parents and 1 granddaughter, Jessicia Peterson.
Memorials may be made to French Camp Academy or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
