Minnie Hudspeth

Minnie Hudspeth, 78, passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at Atwood Personal Care Home in Noxapater, Mississippi. Funeral services will be Monday, February 17, 2020, at 11 a.m. at Crystal Ridge Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Jones officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service at Crystal Ridge Church from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will immediately follow in Crystal Ridge Cemetery.

Minnie was born on October 22, 1941, to Willie and Tabitha White Flake in Winston County, Mississippi. She was a devoted member of Crystal Ridge Baptist Church where she sang in the choir each Sunday; and with the church quartet, The Crystal Ridge Singers. Minnie was a graduate of Nanih Waiya School and she attended Wood Junior College. She retired as an administrative assistant at Brunt-Ward car dealership. Minnie was an avid gardener and she very much enjoyed working in her flowers. She also enjoyed the time she spent with and caring for her grandchildren.

Minnie is survived by her son Richard “Ritchie” Hudspeth and wife Jennifer of Madison, Mississippi. She is also survived by her four sisters: Ruby Rogers; Martha (Leroy) Fulcher; Kat McBrayer; and Elaine Dooley. One of her greatest joys was being “Maw” to her four grandchildren: Will (Shelby) Hudspeth; PFC Ethan Hudspeth; Sara Hudspeth; and Bonnie Hudspeth; as well as her four great-grandchildren: Anna Lee Hudspeth; Katie Elizabeth Hudspeth; Wyatt Easton Hudspeth; and Addelyn Raine Hudspeth. Minnie was preceded in death by her loving husband Doc Hudspeth; her daughter Terri Hudspeth; her parents; her sister Maggie Eaves; and two brothers Clinton Flake and George Flake.

Serving as pallbearers are Carl Flake, Jimmy Flake, Ronnie Flake, and Jerry Hill. Memorials in honor of Minnie may be given to the Alzheimer’s Association, 8180 Greensboro Drive,Suite 400, McLean, VA 22102.
