Mr. Tony Lyn Howard, 68, passed away on Monday, October 28, 2019, at the Sonny Montgomery VA Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Thursday, October 31st, at Porter Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Interment will be in Betheden Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Tony was born June 14, 1951, in Winston County, MS. He was a graduate of Louisville High School. He was an Army veteran and served in South Korea during the Vietnam war, worked as a lineman for East Mississippi Electric Power Assn., and was a deputy for the Winston County Sheriff’s Department.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Ruth Hight Howard; and two brothers, Danny Howard and Lee Howard.

He is survived by five children, Andy Ingram of Lufkin, TX, Dustin Howard of Louisiana, Renee Pursley of Belleville, TX, Toni Howard of Columbus, MS, and Whitney Blackwell of Jackson, MS; a sister, Mary Howard Kelly of Nacogdoches, TX, two brothers, Leo Howard of McCool, and Algene Howard of Kosciusko, MS, ten grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
