Joshua Reed

Mr. Joshua Burkes Reed, 24, passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 12th, at First Methodist Church, with Rev. Hubert Yates, Rev. Diane Lemmon, and Mr. Randall Criswell officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. at First Methodist Church. Interment will be in Whitehall Cemetery. Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Joshua was born March 1, 1995, in Starkville, MS. He was a lineman for Starkville Electric, and a member of Whitehall Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Winston Academy, and East Mississippi Community College. He loved the outdoors, and was an avid golfer and duck, deer, and dove hunter.

He is survived by his mother, Shelia Knighton Reed of Louisville; his father, Ray Reed of Louisville; a sister, Raychal (Jud) Roberts of Tupelo; grandparents, Wyatt and Dorothy Reed of Louisville, and Dorothy Knighton and uncle William Knighton of Louisville; and his girlfriend, Maggie Mann of Maben, and their dog, Teddy.

Pallbearers will be Cody Miller, Rylee Pearson, Mack Ball, Paxton Trull, Jeremy McCullouch, Stanton McMinn, Ross Barnett, Chapin Walters, and Taylor Russell. Honorary pallbearers are the employees of Starkville Electric, and members of the Winston County Forestry Commission.
Memorials may be made to the Joshua Reed Memorial Lineman Scholarship Fund.
