Chuck Goodin

Charles Stuart “Chuck” Goodin, 74, passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 21, 2019, at Winston Medical Center in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Sunday, March 24, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. David Keen and Adam Horton officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 1 p.m. until service time at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will follow in Perkinsville Cemetery.

Chuck was born July 19, 1944, to Grady and Lora Stuart Goodin of Louisville. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. In 2012, Chuck retired from Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT). For more than 30 years, he owned and operated Goodin’s Construction Company. He had many hobbies but he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved to take his grandkids hunting and watch them learn about the sport and took pride in teaching them. He also enjoyed watching all sports, especially those games in which his grandchildren participated.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 25 years, Linda Goodin of Louisville; and by four children: Keith Goodin and wife Sonya of Madison; Britt Goodin and wife Tracy of Mathiston; Paige Roye and husband Kenny of Pontotoc, Mississippi; and Natalie Stewart and husband Deric of Louisville. One of his greatest joys was being “Papaw Chuck” to his 10 precious grandchildren: Jon Kerry King, Hunter Goodin, Jarrett King, Conner Goodin, Makaela Stewart, Bryce Roye, Nick Stewart, Jersie Goodin, Harrison Roye, and Ridge Roye. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Roy Goodin and his sister June Scott.

Serving as pallbearers are Conner Goodin, Hunter Goodin, Jarrett King, Jon Kerry King, Bryce Roye, Harrison Roye, Ridge Roye, and Nick Stewart. Honorary pallbearers will be MDOT employees and Charlie James. Memorials in memory of Chuck may be given to Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 399, Louisville, MS 39339.
