Clinton was born September 8, 1946, to Thelma McBrayer Adcock and W. E. Adcock, Jr. He graduated from Louisville High School and attended Mississippi State University. He was then employed by Spartus Corporation in Louisville. Later, he was employed for a number of years in the convenience store business.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
