Florine “Flo” Parker, age 90, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018, at Winston Medical Center Hospital in Louisville, Mississippi, surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 5, 2018, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 6 at Camp Ground United Methodist Church with Rev. Keith Williams officiating. Interment will follow in Camp Ground Cemetery.
Flo was born, September 22, 1928, to P. E. and Stella Mae Thomas Stanley. She was a member of Camp Ground United Methodist Church and a graduate of Noxapater High School. Flo loved baking, especially caramel cakes for Lake Tiak-O’Khata. She enjoyed working in her yard and her flowers. She also raised cock-a-til birds as a hobby. For many years, she worked at Woolsworth in downtown Mobile, Alabama. After moving back to Noxapater, she and her husband opened the Mason Jar Restaurant. For more than 40 years, Flo worked at Lake Tiak-O’Khata Restaurant where she enjoyed serving and meeting people from around the world.
Flo is survived by two sons Charles Parker and wife Teresa of LaGrange, Georgia; and Michael Parker of Saraland, Alabama. She is also survived by her brothers, Archie Stanley and wife Sandra of Nanih Waiya; Bobby Stanley and wife Edna; Jerry Stanley and wife Frances; Bill Stanley all of Noxapater; and Clyde Stanley and wife Virginia of Louisville. One of her greatest joys was being “Granny” to her four grandchildren: Paige (Charlie) McAluffe; Parrish Parker; Kailin Parker; and Jessica Michelle (Ryan) Welch; as well as five great-grandchildren: Camden, Lily, and Liam McAluffe; and Rogan and Lennox Welch. She was preceded in death by her husband John Wilford Parker; her parents; two sisters Geneva Stevenson and Jane Reid; and her brother, Larry Stanley.
Serving as pallbearers are Gary Mayo, Jerry Smith, Joe Smith, Scotty Smith, Tim Smith, and Jeff Stanley. Honorary pallbearers are all employees of her Lake Tiak-O’Khata family.
