Johnny Davis Sullivan, 68, passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at The Oak Cottage at the Winston Medical Center Nursing Home in Louisville, Mississippi, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, November 24, 2018, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Michael Wells officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 12 noon until service time at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will follow in Ellison Ridge Cemetery.
Johnny was born August 31, 1950, to J. C. and Ruby Palmer Sullivan. He was a member of Ellison Ridge Baptist Church. During his high school career at Nanih Waiya, he was a pole vaulting champion. Johnny was an avid Ole Miss fan and he dearly loved his kids and grandkids.
Johnny is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Shari Whitehead Sullivan of Louisville; his daughters Holly Wilkes and husband Justin of Louisville; C. Jae Sullivan Warren of New Hope, Mississippi; and three sons Shane Sullivan of Louisville; Lance Sullivan and wife Denise of Bruce, Mississippi; and Cody Preston of Memphis, Tennessee. He is also survived by two sisters Bonnie Burkes and Judy Rogers (Roy); and his brother Jakie Sullivan (Susan). One of his greatest joys was being “Gramps” to his six grandchildren: Destiny Sullivan, Elijah Wilkes, Jodie Wilkes, Zander Warren, Cheyenne Warren, and Zane Wilkes. He was preceded in death by a daughter Jacklyn Brooke Sullivan; granddaughter Jaicee Brooke Warren, his parents; and two sisters Mary Lou Conn and Donnie Sue Dempsey.
