Jim Alvin Adams, 69, retired medical lab and x-ray tech, and member of Ackerman Baptist Church, passed away Thursday, October 11, 2018, at his residence in Ackerman, MS, surrounded by all of his family. He was born February 14, 1949, in Choctaw County, MS. Parents were Alex A. and Ella Faye (McWhorter) Adams.
Funeral Services for Mr. Adams were held on Sunday, October 14, 2018, at 3:00 p.m., at Ackerman Baptist Church in Ackerman, MS. Burial followed in New Haven Cemetery.
Visitation was held Saturday, October 13, 2018, from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman, MS.
Mr. Adams is survived by his wife, Debra, 2 sons, Blaine Adams(Kelli) of Ackerman, MS and Charles Ables, Jr. of Kosciusko, MS, 3 daughters, Amy Threadgill(Chris) of Ackerman, MS, Shalon Woods(Terry) of Louisville, MS, and Carrie McGee(Jake) of Kosciusko, MS, 2 brothers, James Adams(Sylvia) of Ackerman, MS, Thomas "Sonny" Adams of Mobile, AL, 1 sister, Lora Gray(Ruble) of Athens, GA.
He is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Lauren, Adam, & Brian Threadgill, Kohen Adams, Hunter McElroy, Brooklyn Woods, Tristan & Logan Ables, Bralyn, Tripp and Holden McGee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Alex A. and Ella Faye (McWhorter) Adams, and 2 sisters, Lela McDill and Jane Davis.
