Bonnie Reed

Bonette (Bonnie) Reed, age 80, passed away surrounded by her loving family and friends on Friday, September 28, 2018, at her home in Noxapater, Mississippi. There will be a Celebration of Life service Monday, October 1, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. at Hight Assembly of God Church in Noxapater with visitation an hour prior to the service. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday October 2, 2018, at Needham Assembly of God Church in Needham, Alabama, with Rev. Edgar Reed and Rev. Bob Null officiating. Interment will follow the funeral at Brightwater Methodist Cemetery in Needham. 

Bonnie was born September 8, 1938, to Alpheus and Lula Dee Broadhead. Her mother passed when she was 4 years old and her new mother was Nellie Mae Broadhead. She was a member of Hight Assembly of God Church in Noxapater. She graduated from Noxapater High School. She worked at Noxapater Schools for 17 years as a cafeteria worker. She later worked 25 years at Louisville Wal-Mart.

Bonnie is survived by her three sons, Edgar Reed and wife, Janora, of Willard, Missouri; Raymond Reed and wife, Wendy, of Brandon, Mississippi; and Dennis Reed of Noxapater. One of her greatest joys was being “Nana” to her four grandchildren: Lauran Reed Swindle (Josh); Alex Reed (Brooke); Audrey Reed; and Brooke Reed; as well as two great-grandsons, Jesse Swindle and Joseph Reed. She has two remaining brothers, Howard Broadhead and Rick Broadhead, and two remaining sisters, Naomi Luker and Corene Deen. She is preceded in death by her parents Alpheus Broadhead, Lula Dee Broadhead, and Nellie Mae Broadhead, her brother Mathis Broadhead, and her sisters Inez Bonner, Dona Kelly, and Ruth Reed.

Serving as pallbearers for the Hight Assembly of God service will be Mark Kugle, Taylor Lee, Alex Reed, DJ Reed, Jimmy Martin Reed, Josh Swindle, and Myron Stevenson. Pallbearers for the Needham Assembly of God service will be Jonathan Jenkins, Tommy Jenkins, Chad Kelly, Alex Reed, Nick Ross, and Josh Swindle. Memorials in honor of Bonnie Reed may be given to Hight Assembly of God Building Fund, 105 Hight Moore Rd, Noxapater, MS 39346.
