Henry Moody Moore, age 77, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, July 23, 2018, at his residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, July 29, 2018, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Junior Davis officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 12:00 noon until service time at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Interment will follow in Ellison Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Chris Vowell officiating.
Henry was born March 21, 1941, in Winston County, Mississippi, to Edris Cunningham. While growing up in the Nanih Waiya community and during his life, he enjoyed fishing and hunting, but his favorite activity was being Papaw. Henry was a very special man to many people and could always make you smile. He loved driving around and stopping to visit with his friends.
Henry is survived by his wife of 59 years, Judy Eaves Moore; and his daughters, Susan Moody and Shannon Holdiness, both of Louisville. One of his greatest joys was being “Papaw” to his six grandchildren: Christopher Moody, Dylan Moody, Katie Holdiness, Chelsea Holdiness, Kyle Holdiness, and Lizzie Holdiness; and his three great-grandchildren, Nich Holdiness, Luke Holdiness, and Jacob Moody. He was preceded in death by his mother; his grandparents, Wesley and Betty Moody; and his son-in-law, Woody Moody.
Serving as pallbearers are Wade Blaine, Joe Johns, Chris Moody, Jamie McMillin, Steve Sinclair, Randy Sullivan, E. L. Vowell, and Levi Warner. Honorary pallbearers are Lamar Parkes, Wayne Haggard, Gary Hughes, Wayne Moody, Bobby Moody, and Chico Holdiness. Memorial contributions in honor of Henry may be given to Ellison Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Kathy Carr, 13 Ellison Ridge Church Road, Louisville, MS 39339.
