Paula grew up in Meridian, MS before meeting Jerry Wallace Hendrix of Louisville, MS on July 6, 1958 at Frank’s Drive-In. They began their life-journey on Valentine’s Day in 1959 enjoying 49 years of marriage and raising three children. They worked side-by-side at Hendrix Electric Company, Inc. for many years before opening PJ’s, a women’s clothing store with locations in both Louisville and Jackson, MS. Though she enjoyed her time in the business world, her passion was time with her family attending many sporting and school events. The last three years were spent sparring with her caregivers. We are forever grateful for their love and support. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband Jerry; her parents, Estelle and Paul Rogers of Meridian, MS; and her grandson, Tait Hendrix of Madison, MS.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheryl Hendrix of Tuscaloosa, AL; sons, Steve (Melinda) Hendrix of Madison, MS and Scott R. Hendrix of Tupelo, MS; grandchildren, Tal (Leah) Hendrix of Jackson, MS and Eron Hendrix of Tupelo, MS; and great-grandchildren, Cobb, Ann Mabry, Mary Tait and Walt Hendrix of Jackson, MS. Walt was born on Paula’s last birthday. She is also survived by two sisters, Gwendolyn (Brian) Eden and Linda (Durward) Smith.
