Maureen Perkins

Ms. Maureen Perkins, 82, passed away on Saturday, June 3, 2017, at her residence in Louisville, Mississippi.  Visitation will be Monday, June 5, 2017, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Nowell Massey Funeral Home in Louisville.  Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 6, 2017, at Liberty Baptist Church with Rev. Joseph Ingram and Rev. Bobby Parrish officiating.  Interment will follow in Liberty Church Cemetery.


Maureen, a lifelong resident of Winston County, was born January 8, 1935, to Jessie and Pearl Whitmire Carter.  She was an employee of Spartus Corporation for over 33 years.  Ms. Perkins was a lifetime member of Liberty Baptist Church where she served in many capacities through the years, including church treasurer.  She loved the Lord and her church family.  She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She was very proud of her family and took great pleasure in the time spent with them.  Also, she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and talking with friends.

Maureen is survived by her daughter, Lynn Prude and husband, James, of Dallas, Texas; and her sons, Ronald Perkins and wife, Sandra, of Brandon, Mississippi; and Mike Perkins and wife, Paula, of Louisville.  One of her greatest joys was being “MawMaw” to her four grandchildren:  Ron Perkins and wife, Emily; Nikki Hunt; Samantha Perkins; and Brett Perkins.  She also loved being “MawMaw Reen” to her five great-grandchildren:  Ann Carter Perkins, Adeline Perkins, Gracie Hunt, Carter Hunt, and Karcie Perkins.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Perkins; and her parents.


Serving as pallbearers are Terry Carter, Randall Livingston, Brett Perkins, Ron Perkins, Bobby Stanley, and Charlie Wilkes.  Memorial contributions in honor of Ms. Perkins may be given to Liberty Baptist Church, c/o Chet Wilkes, 2357 Tuck Wilkes Road, Noxapater, MS 39346.
