George W. “Dub” Gregory

Mr. George W. “Dub” Gregory, 91, passed away on Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at his residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2017, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville with Rev. Mark Mayo officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Murphy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Dub was born June 24, 1925, to William B. and Willie Bell Stokes Gregory in Winston County. He is a member of Murphy Creek Baptist Church; and a retired diesel mechanic for GM&O Railroad Transport Company. Dub, a work-a-holic, did not spend his time on hobbies but he loved his family dearly and enjoyed time spent with them.

Mr. Gregory is survived by his son, George W. “Buddy” Gregory and wife, Brenda; and two grandchildren, Eric Gregory and wife, Shannon; and Heather Tabor and husband, Brad. He is One of his greatest joys was being with his six great-grandchildren: Hunter Gregory, Hayze Gregory, Alexia Tabor, Ashlyn Tabor, Devin Tabor, and Maddox Tabor; as well as his first cousin, Larry “Snapper” Gregory and wife, Dianne; all of Louisville. Mr. Gregory was preceded in death by his wife, Rita June Gregory; and his parents.

Memorial contributions in honor of Mr. Gregory may be given to Murphy Creek Baptist Church, 5420 Bond Road, Louisville, MS 39339.
