Shirley Slawson

Mrs. Shirley M. Slawson, 74, died Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Choctaw County Hospital in Ackerman, MS. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 20th, at 12:00 P.M. at Harmony Baptist Church, with Rev. Jerry Lundy officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 11:00 A.M. until service time at the church. Interment will be in Harmony Cemetery, Porter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Slawson was born September 20, 1942, in Winston County, MS. She was a homemaker, and a member of Harmony Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry E. Slawson; a daughter, Sandra Hensley; and four sisters, Effie Price, Bonnie Hollis, Ruby Kennedy, and Carrie Massey. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Rodney) Guy of Westover, AL; a son, Dennis Slawson of Westover, AL; four sisters, Barbara Kirk of Louisville, MS, Helen Helms of Meridian, MS, Ann Easterling of Lena, MS, and Helen J. Atkinson of Burnside, MS; five grandchildren, Carl Hensley, Eric Slawson, Wesley Hensley, Bryan Guy, and Marcus Slawson; and one great grandchild, William Guy . Memorials may be made to Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.
