Mama's sister, our Aunt Mamie Carpenter of Greenwood, Mississippi, and her husband, our Uncle Grady Carpenter, visited with Mama often through the years. They have shared an abiding friendship and many hours of laughter together. We are forever grateful for their love. Mama and Aunt Mamie had 12 other siblings who have already completed their Earthly journeys. We knew them as Uncle Son, Uncle Will, Uncle Oatie, Uncle Bennie, Uncle Millard, Uncle Boots, Aunt Sis, Aunt Irene, Aunt Ella Rivers, Aunt Gertie, Aunt Dill, and little Ammabell. There are many fond memories of these and their families. We have many cousins whose love we continue to cherish.

Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.
