Miss Reed was born December 22, 1940, to Willie Alex and Edna Adcock Reed in Winston County. She was a member of Mashulaville Baptist Church; and Miss Doug loved working outside in her yard and garden and she enjoyed her puzzle books.
She is survived by her sister, Helen Richardson of Macon, Mississippi; and a host of nieces and nephews. Miss Reed was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, C. V. Reed and James Reed; and by two sisters, Dean Freshour and Effie Higginbotham.
Serving as pallbearers are Rusty Crabtree, Eddie Gaylord, Richard Gaylord, James Moffett, Bobby Robbins, and Toby Robbins. Memorial contributions in honor of Miss Doug may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tribute Program, P. O. Box 1000 Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
