Troy L. Donald, 91, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Louisville Health Care Nursing Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 13, 2016, in the Nowell Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Childs and Rev. Leslie “Bo” Mills officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service at Nowell Massey Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Troy was born December 8, 1924, to Columbus Robert and Annie Wilcher Donald. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, and was the owner of Donald’s Barber Shop and later retired after 69 years. Mr. Donald also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Mr. Donald is survived by his wife of 66 years, Mildred P. Donald; his daughter, Lisa Edmonson of Madison, Mississippi; and enjoyed being “Papaw” to his three granddaughters, Haden, Allyn and Rossy Edmonson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Keith Donald; his son-in-law, Richie Edmonson; brothers, Rudolph, Bill, H. R. and Clinton Donald; and his sister, Lessie Ward.
Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Donald, James Donald, Jerry Donald, S. T. Ray, Jr., Kenneth Whitmire, and Wayne Whitmire. Steve Whitmire will be serving as an honorary pallbearer. Memorials may be given to First United Methodist Church of Louisville, 300 W. Main Street, Louisville, MS 39339, or charity of choice.
