Mr. Clois Ray Braswell

Mr. Clois Ray Braswell, 78, of Jackson, formerly of Greenville, passed away Monday, August 15, 2016, at his home. Visitation will be 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 17, 2016, at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in French Camp, MS. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 3:00 p.m. at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Mark Mayo officiating. Interment will be in Chapel Hill Cemetery.

Mr. Braswell was born in French Camp, MS on December 22, 1937, to Henry Griffin Braswell and Mavis Ray Braswell. After receiving a double Masters in Education at Mississippi State, he proudly served our country in the National Guard. He worked for 39 years as a Manager of Vocational Rehabilitation Works in Greenville. On December 21, 2001, he married JoAnne Morris in Lake Village, AR.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry Griffin Braswell and Mavis Ray Braswell.

Mr. Braswell is survived by his wife, JoAnne Braswell of Jackson; son, Mike Braswell (Vicky) of Holcomb; daughter, Darla Mayo (Mark) of Louisville; step-son, Glenn Babb (Jennine) of Pearl; step-daughters, Debbie Grant (Johnnie) of Brandon, Anne Marie Shelley (James) of Greenville, Jennifer Lynn Spencer (Patrick) of Greenville, and Julia Renee Womack (Mitch) of Leland; and 13 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Mayo, Joe Braswell, Ricky Sims, Marvis Braswell, Robert Nowell, and Glenn Babb. Honorary pallbearers will be James Shelley, Jr., Anderson Shelley, Patrick Spencer, Sr., Patrick Spencer, Jr., Richard Zeagler, and David Vaughn
