Maggie Sue McAdory

Maggie Sue McAdory, 71, was anointed her new body as she passed away on Friday, March 11, 2016, in the Winston Medical Center Nursing Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2016, at Oak Grove Baptist Church in Noxapater, Mississippi, with Rev. Tommy Jones and Rev. Gary Caudill officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service at Oak Grove Baptist Church from 1:30 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery beside her loving parents.
Ms. McAdory was born April 20, 1944, in Noxapater, to John Dennis and Sarah Evans McAdory; and was lovingly nicknamed over the years by all her family as “Susie Q”. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.

She attended Noxapater High School through the eighth grade when her illness prevented her from attending school any further. Her parents faithfully and lovingly cared for her in their home until their deaths or illness prevented them from doing so. Miss McAdory was cared for by her sister, June with the help of her family, for a time after her parent’s death. She then lived at Rolling Hills Development Facility until 2010 when her family had her moved to Winston County Nursing Home. Due to the damage of the nursing home by the tornado in 2014, she was graciously accepted and temporarily cared for at the Attala County Nursing Home in Kosciusko, Mississippi. She was returned to her “home”, Winston County Nursing Home in 2015, where she was happy and was treated as part of their family.

Ms. McAdory is survived by her sister, June Reynolds and husband, Ivan, of Noxapater; and her brother, Coy McAdory and wife, Motoko, of Jackson, Mississippi. She is also survived by brother-in-law Rev. Tommy Jones and sister-in-law Johnnie McAdory both of Louisville. Also left to mourn her passing is her loving nieces and nephews: Sara Pugh, George McAdory, Lynn Smith, Larry McAdory, Janet Bradeen, Debbie Simpson, Glenn Jones, Jane Lafferty, Steve Jones, Ricky Reynolds, Beverly Terry, Linda Peoples, and J. J. Ball. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Clifton and Leo McAdory; and her sisters, Joann McAdory, Mary Jones, and Ruby McAdory; her sister-in-law, Izora McAdory; and her nephew, Dirk McAdory.

Serving as pallbearers will be Roper Ball, Stewart Ball, Wyatt Ball, Phillip Brock, Josh Peoples, and Jeff Terry. Memorials may be given to Oak Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 19 Asa Thomas Road, Noxapater, MS 39346.
