Mr. Collins was born July 18, 1943, to Charley and Susie Hamilton Collins. He was a member of Plattsburg Baptist Church; a retired welder at Taylor Machine Works; and as a “jack of all trades” he could fix anything. He answered the call of his country by serving in and retiring from the Mississippi National Guard.

Daniel is survived by his daughter, Sara Collins of Bay, Arkansas; and by two sons, John Ashley Collins of Corning, Arkansas; and James Daniel Collins of Knobel, Arkansas. One of his greatest joys was being “Grandpa” to five grandchildren: Corey Dorman, Nathanial Collins, Kaylee Collins, Jazmine Collins, and Preston Collins. Also left to mourn his passing is three sisters, Dorothy Strait of Union, Mississippi; Julie Easterling and husband, Bill; and Ivanell Swindle all of Noxapater, Mississippi. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Louise King and Cecil Glass; and one brother, Lavelle Collins.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Childress, Jeremy Childress, Julian Childress, Neil King, Doyle Moore, and Thomas Swindle.

Services are under the direction of Nowell-Massey Funeral Home, 724 North Columbus Avenue, Louisville, MS. Memories and condolences may be shared with the family by signing the guest register at www.nowellmasseyfuneralhome.com.
