Martina was born September 12, 1942, in Louisville. She worked at Louisville Industries, and loved coloring, making paper chains, and drawing pictures that she loved to share with her friends. She attended Whitehall United Methodist Church, where she loved the children, Bible School, and the annual church bazaar. Her favorite food was M & Ms. Martina was preceded in death by her parents, Savannah Beatrice and John Wesley Ashmore; and three brothers, Charles Ashmore, Buck Ashmore, and Jimmie Ashmore.
She is survived by a sister, Rose Pearson of Louisville; sister-in-law, Ozelle Ashmore of Picayune, MS; special nieces, Charlotte Roach and Judy Mullinax; her guardian, Janice Hunter, and her husband, Hubert; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Martina’s family would like to thank her caregiver, Peggy Maycock, and the staff of Winston County Nursing Home for the excellent care they gave her.
