Mr. John Paul Young, 89, of Noxapater, died Tuesday, September 29, 2015, at his daughter’s home in Weir. 

He was born April 19, 1926, in Neshoba County and graduated from Longino School. He served in the U.S. Army as a front line medic and was later a supply sergeant on the USS George Washington and the USS Muir. In 1952, he married Aneda Faye Norris. Mr. Young worked at Taylor Machine Works until his retirement in 1992, and then delivered cars for Bullock Toyota in Louisville until this past May. He loved to hunt, fish and cook.

Survivors include his daughter, Paula Faye Harris and her husband, Charles of Weir; son, Johnny Wade Young and his wife, Nona of Noxapater; grandchildren, Chris Young and his wife, Wendy of Noxapater and Kimberly Flake and her husband, Jamie of Louisville; great-grandchildren, Braxton Flake of Louisville, Jaycie Flake of Louisville and Brayden Young of Noxapater; and sister, Doris Parker of Starkville.

Mr. Young was preceded in death by his wife, Aneda Faye Young; his parents; one sister; and three brothers.
