Juanita Whitmire Rodgers

Juanita Whitmire Rodgers, 85, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Choctaw County Hospital in Ackerman, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, 2015, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel in Louisville, Mississippi, with Rev. Trent Jaudon officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service from 1 p.m. until service time at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.


Mrs. Rodgers was born on May 27, 1930, to Phillip Michael and Elva Mae Adams Whitmire. She was a member of South Louisville Baptist Church.

Mrs. Rodgers is survived by her three daughters: Donna Jean Triplett and husband, Johnny, of Columbus, Mississippi; Judy Carol White, of Louisville; and Janet Gregg and husband, Larry, of Starkville, Mississippi; and her son, Eddie James Rodgers and wife, Kimberly, of  Marathon, New York. She also leaves behind her sister, Linda Swain and husband, David; her sister-in-law, Marzene Whitmire; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward “Jimmy” Rodgers; her granddaughter, Tammy Gail Roland; her great-granddaughter, Natalie Gregg; her parents; her sister, Bettye Stewart; her brother, Darwin Whitmire; and her brother-in-law, Charles Stewart.
