Alton C. Tanksley

Alton C. Tanksley, age 87, of Hot Springs, died Friday, April 3, 2015.  Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, April 6, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs with Rev. Van Glidwell and Rev. Wayne Gore officiating.Visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until service time on Monday. Interment will be in Sunrise Memorial Cemetery in Noxapater, Mississippi at 2:00 PM, Tuesday with Rev. Rick Robart officiating.

He was born on January 27, 1928 in Louisville, Mississippi, the son of Everett S. Tanksley and Myrtle Beatrice Barfield Tanksley. On June 30, 1951, he was married to Rebecca L. Roach. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Hilton T. Tanksley; and one sister, Hazel Ivy.

Alton retired in 1986 in Ohio and moved to Hot Springs in 1990. He was a longtime member of Bismarck Pentecostal Church and most recently had been attending Lakeview Assembly of God.

He is survived by his wife, Rebecca L. Tanksley of Hot Springs, one daughter and son-in-law, Sylvia and Rev. Rick Robart of Pryor, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Nathaniel and Rachael Robart and Leia and Bryan Oakes; three great-grandchildren, Talayah Robart, Mishayla Robart and Prince Robart; one sister, Gladys Edwards of Grenada, Mississippi; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends.
