Maudine Vowell Bennett

Maudine Vowell Bennett, 86, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, January 23, 2015, at her daughter’s residence in McCool, Mississippi. Visitation will be Sunday, January 25, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 26, 2015, at Hinze Baptist Church with Rev. Alton Thrasher officiating. Visitation will also be the day of the service at Hinze Baptist Church from 1 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Hinze Baptist Church Cemetery.Maudine was born in Winston County on January 10, 1929, to Lennie and Jewel Clark Vowell. She attended Hinze Baptist Church and she was a homemaker.

Ms. Bennett is survived by her daughter, Diane Milner of McCool; and two sons, Marty Bennett and wife, Susan, of Brandon, Mississippi; and Larry Bennett and wife, Norma, of McCool. She was “Maw” to six grandchildren: Chris Bennett and wife, Kim; Tanda Pettit and husband, Wayne; Emily Bennett; Josh Bennett; Mason Bennett and wife, Shelly; and Megan Hubbard and husband, Randy. She also had six great-grandchildren: Glace and Makinzee Rone; Kassie and Kelly Stevens; Thatcher Hubbard; and Lily Bennett. Ms. Maudine is also survived by one sister, Jane Cline of Kansas; and two brothers, Kenneth Vowell of McCool; and Dalton Vowell of Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband, Coleman Bennett; her son, Ricky Bennett; her parents; two brothers, V. E. Vowell and L. S. Vowell; two sisters, Joyce Ainsworth and Imogene Bennett; and her son-in-law, Larry Milner.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Bennett, Josh Bennett, Mason Bennett, Randy Hubbard, Glace Rone, Stanley Shaw, and Jim Whittle. Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Tribute Program, P. O. Box 1000 Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
