Geneva Mae Eaves

Geneva Mae Eaves, 97, passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014, at her residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Sunday, November 23, 2014, from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 24, 2014, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Walter Simmons and Rev. Grady Crowell officiating. Interment will follow in Murphy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Ms. Eaves was born on February 24, 1917, to John Wesley and Fannie Moorehead Arledge. She was a member of Murphy Creek Baptist Church, and she was a nurse assistant at Winston Medical Center.

Geneva is survived by four daughters: Fannie Sue Rogers of Brandon, Mississippi; Nina J. Potter and husband, Bill, of Orlando, Florida; Joyce K. Smith of Noxapater, Mississippi; and Betty L. Hollis and husband, Don, of Madison, Mississippi; her daughter-in-law, Becky Eaves of Louisville; and a special friend, Tony Vickery of Mathiston, Mississippi . She was “Grandma Eaves” to eight grandchildren: Dewayne Rogers; Cathy Baker; Chuck Eaves (Mary Ellen); Sharon Eaves; Dale Talbert (Robin); Terrell Smith (Kim); Treba Hicks (John); and Jason Hollis (Missy). She also has eight great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and two great-great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Eaves; her son, Charles F. Eaves; her great-granddaughter, Roxie Talbert; and her parents.

Serving as pallbearers will be Freddy Fulcher, Rusty Foster, Larry Moorehead, Perry Hindman, Buddy Chappell, and Teddy Davis. Honorary pallbearer will be Harley Eaves. Memorials may be given to Murphy Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1637 Boon Road, Louisville, MS 39339.
