Gaddie "MaMaw B" Holdiness

Gaddie B. “MaMaw B” Holdiness, 88, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Friday, July 25, 2014, at her son’s residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be on Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. as well as one hour prior to the service on Monday. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, July 28, 2014, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Allen “Bubba” Eaves and Rev. Hubert Yates officiating. Interment will follow in Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.“MaMaw B” was born in Neshoba County on May 10, 1926, to Addie Mae Cummins Higginbotham and John Jackson Higginbotham. She was a member of Ebenezer Pentecostal Church and was employed as a seamstress by Macon Pants Factory for 24 years.

She is survived by her children: Shirley Jean Hawkins and husband, Michael; John William “Johnny” Holdiness, Jr. and wife, Sandra; Barbara Walton Parker and husband, James Charles, all of Louisville; and Jackie Dale Holdiness and wife, Donna, of Preston. “MaMaw B” has nine grandchildren: John Wesley White and wife, Jan; Eric Christopher Hawkins; Joey Holdiness and wife, Carla; Libby Woodfin and husband, Jay; Emily Joy Holdiness; Barry Walton and wife, Amy; Brent Walton and wife, Wendy; Alysia Richardson; and Derek Holdiness and wife, Amanda. She has 17 great-grandchildren: Justin White; Jessica Fulton; Kylie Hawkins; Kristin Childress; Logan and Cole Bennett; Drew, Madison, and Trevor Holdiness; Ian, Caleb, Hanna, Seth, and Chloe Walton; Brooke and Austin Richardson; and Presley Holdiness. She also has four great-great-grandchildren: Vanessa Fulton; Carter White; Eli Fulton; and Waylon White; as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, and special friend, June Triplett. She was preceded in death by her husband, John William Holdiness; an infant daughter; her parents; four brothers; and two sisters.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Hawkins, Barry Walton, Brent Walton, John White, Drew Holdiness, Derek Holdiness, Joey Holdiness, Justin White, and Jay Woodfin. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Ian, Caleb and Seth Walton; and Austin Richardson.
