Peggy Stokes

Mrs. Peggy Stokes, 65, passed away surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, May 15, 2014, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Visitation will be Saturday, May 17, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at2 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Becky Smith and Rev. Larry Haggard officiating. Interment will follow in Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery.


Peggy was born on June 17, 1948, to Mary Claire Morgan Crummy and Raymond Athol Crummy. She was a member of Middleton Methodist Church and was a homemaker and an artist.



She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Carl Noel Stokes; two daughters, Christinna Popec (Raymond Landrum), and Carla Holdiness and husband, Joey, all of Louisville. Mrs. Stokes has seven grandchildren: Joshua Drew Holdiness, Madison Claire Holdiness, Trevor Joel Holdiness, Adam Carl Popec, Morgan Ann Popec, Jasmine Leigh Popec, and Allen James Landrum. She was preceded in death by her son, Carvel Ray Stokes, and her parents.



Serving as pallbearers will be Jay Stokes, Mica Stokes, Coty Stokes, Jeff Rogers, Marty Boatner, and Joseph Boatner. Memorials may be made toHarmony Baptist Church Cemetery or Youth Fund, c/o David Holder, 359 Palmer Road, Louisville, MS 39339 or to the charity of your choice.
