Charlie Mac "Sammie" McIntyre

Mr. Charlie Mac “Sammy” McIntyre, 78, passed away on Thursday, May 29, 2014, at the Mississippi Veteran’s Home in Kosciusko, Mississippi. Visitation will be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville on Friday, May 30, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. in the Sunrise Cemetery in Noxapater on Saturday, May 31, 2014, with Rev. Richard Burks officiating. Sammy was born June 11, 1935, to Vera Kinard McIntyre and Elmo McIntyre. He answered the call of his country by serving in the United States Air Force and he retired from the State of Mississippi Highway Department (MDOT). 

Mr. McIntyre is survived by his wife of 61 years, Janith May McIntyre; his children: Kenneth McIntyre of Canton, Mississippi; Ann Smith and husband, Mitch, of Plantersville, Mississippi; and Stephanie Bradford and husband, Jamie, of Noxapater; and his brother, Warren Joe McIntyre and wife, Dot, of Zwolle, Louisiana. He is also survived by five grandchildren: Kristy Jones; Cindy Thornton and husband, Rob; Coty Burton; Colton Raines; and Kinley Raines; and by three great-grandchildren: Haley Jones; Lexi Burton; and Bentley Burton; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Sammy was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Betty Lou McIntyre; and his brother, M. D. McIntyre.

Serving as pallbearers are Mitch Smith, Rob Thornton, Colton Raines, Gaylon Raines, Coty Burton, and Joey Bealis.
