Sara L. Massey


Mrs. Sara L. Massey, 85, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014, at her residence in Louisville, Mississippi. Visitation will be Friday, May 2, 2014, from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 3, 2014, at Evergreen Baptist Church with Rev. Justin Wilcher officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery.

Sara was born on August 12, 1928, to Lula Belle Coleman Roberson and Melvin G. Roberson. She was a member of Evergreen Baptist Church and was retired from Louisville Public Schools after working in the cafeteria for 19 ½ years.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Morris Massey; two daughters, Connie Faye Buggs and husband, Benny, of Newton, Mississippi; and Sandra Lou Morgan and husband, Billy; and one sister, Bobbye Cole all of Louisville. She has three grandchildren: Valerie Prince and husband, Philip; Waylon Miller and wife, Kelli; and Chance Massey; and five great-grandchildren: Miriam, Samuel, Sarah, and Andrew Prince; and D. J. Reynolds. Sara was preceded in death by her son, Charlie Massey and her parents.

Serving as pallbearers will be Robert Clark, Daniel Cole, Shannon Cole, Philip Prince, and Andrew Ratcliffe. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to French Camp Academy, One Fine Place, French Camp, MS 39745 or to Evergreen Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Joy Childs, 4068 Highway 14 East, Louisville, MS 39339
