Rev. John A. Griffith, 84, passed away on Monday, March 17, 2014, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 20, 2014, at Hight Assembly of God Church in Noxapater, Mississippi, with Rev. Otis Moore and Rev. Walter Davis officiating. Visitation will be the day of the service at Hight Assembly of God Church from 9 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Mark Davis and Rev. Otis Moore officiating.
Rev. Griffith was born March 20, 1929, to Joe and Sally Joiner Griffith. In 1955, he became a minister in the Assemblies of God fellowship pastoring churches in Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Imogene Parker Griffith of D’Lo, Mississippi; and his daughter, Sherry Griffith Robertson and husband, Cecil, of Madison, Mississippi. Rev. Griffith is also survived by two grandchildren, Lauren Robertson Wall and husband, Bryan; and Leslie Robertson Lair and husband, Paul. He has two great-grandchildren, Benjamin and Anna Wall, as well as, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. Rev. Griffith was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and one sister.
Serving as pallbearers will be Horace Griffith, Joe Griffith, J. B. Griffith, Richard, Griffith, Joey Griffith, Travis Vowell, and Bryan Wall. Memorials may be given to the charity of your choice.
