Winnie Wilson

Mrs. Winnie Wilson, 99, passed away on Tuesday, November 26, 2013, atMississippi Baptist Medical Center in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be at Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville, Mississippi, on Friday, November 29, 2013, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2013, in the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Rick Free officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Wilson was born May 14, 1914, to James and Mary Scott Massingill. She was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and she was a homemaker.

Winnie is survived by her sister-in-law, Maggie Massingill of Noxapater, Mississippi; and four nieces: Cornelia Barrett of DeRitter, Louisiana; Peggy Harthcock and husband, Ed, of Brandon, Mississippi; Linda Chalk also of Brandon; and Dianne Brownlee and husband, Mike, of Canton, Mississippi. She is also survived by two nephews, Garvin Massingill and wife, Earnestine, of Star, Mississippi; and David Massingill of Noxapater, Mississippi, as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews. Mrs. Wilson was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer Wilson; her parents; her sisters, Laura Webster and Beatrice Horton; and her brothers, Elmer, Edgar, J. D., and Wayne Massingill.

Serving as pallbearers are James Massingill, David Massingill, Brad Chalk, Chris Cole, Kevin Harthcock, and Keith Harthcock. Memorials may be given to Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, c/o Louis Varner, 114 Athens Drive, Louisville, MS 39339 or to a charity of your choice.
