Louise Knight Tomlinson

Louise Knight Tomlinson went into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Saturday evening, November 9, 2013, at her home in Louisville, Mississippi. Born August 10, 1920, in Laurel, MS, Mrs. Tomlinson was the daughter of Bess Griffin White and Louis Knight. She was married for more than 60 years to A. B. (Pat) Tomlinson who died in October 2000. She and Pat had one son H. N. (Pat) who passed away in 2009. Louise had been a member of First Presbyterian Church for more than 80 years, and served the church for many years as organist and pianist.

Mrs. Tomlinson is survived by her grandsons Patrick and Brian Tomlinson and by her daughter in law of 36 years, Susan Carey Tomlinson. She has two great-grandchildren by Patrick and his wife Martha: Megann Elizabeth and Cooper Neil Tomlinson.

Louise lost her mother Bess at the age of 13 and lived for 6 years at the Palmer Home in Columbus, MS. She was a graduate of S. D. Lee High School in Columbus, MS, and the Mississippi State College for Women where she played viola in the MSCW Symphony Orchestra. She was a life long supporter of Palmer Home and had fond memories of her time there.

Visitation will be held at the Nowell-Massey Funeral Home in Louisville on November 13, 2013, from 9 to 11 a.m. Services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. with interment afterward at Memorial Park Cemetery. Rev. Scott Phillips, Pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Louisville, will officiate at the service.

Pallbearers will be Roger Caperton, Mike Forster, Tony Jordan, Ethan Jordan, Charley McCool and David Wilson. John Sharp and Rex Brunt are honorary pallbearers.
